Tell the truth. The real reason you made this post is to get hints on what your doing wrong right? If you really know the 109g10 like you say then you should do better in the spit 14 than you did that last sortie. The spit 14 out performs the 109g10 in top speed higher up, climb performance, and goes to higher altitude. I bet you wont ho in it though.
well the field i was getting my kills from was being vulched. they were way to the south coming to defend the field. not to mess with the poor old spit14. i went to soda for help. he taugh me alot about the plane. otherwise i would have already lost 1 if i had not gone to him for help. ohh well just my first day flying it tommorow will be better.

Here are the facts, I leave editorial to others:

http://www.innomi.com/ahkillstats/totalstats.php

This tour so far:

Spitfire 14  487 Kills 361 Deaths  K/D 1.35

Tempest    2213 Kills 476 Deaths  K/D 4.65

Any questions?

Chute: 2984 kills   0 deaths   2984.00 K/D ratio

So everyone can cleary see that a parachute is the most deadly fighter in the game. :D

imo the tempest is the best fighter in the game judging by the way the fight is in the MA, as already said the spit 14 is misused.  The version we have is a high alt fighter, it may suck on the deck but get it above 20k and its an absolute beast.

Now..... This is the version we really need to go around making lala dweebs whine

Depends on your flying style. If you are careful and patient, spit 14 is a good choice. But if you are agressive, get tempest. I prefer tempest for this reason, it let you to mess with 5 guys, kill 3 and get home after this. In spit you will mess with 5 guys, kill 3 and die.

Exactly, tempest makes it much easier to run home when the dweeb horde is after you.

There is no need to run away in the Spit XIV, you just climb away, in fact its simply amazing to see 3 or 4 tempests simply stall away under you on the deck as you spiral away from them with ease... :)

Put a Spit V/IX pilot in the Spit XIV and it's meat. Put a 109 pilot in the Spit XIV and it's deadly. Nothing with a prop climbs like the XIV below 5k, in the mid-alt range you got to look out for 109G10's as they will out climb and out run you. Above 20K you only need to worry about other perk planes like the Ta152 and Temp, although you will match them.

EDIT: You'll need to watch out for the 109G10 above 20K too, but it will have only little if any advantage over you in the climb/speed aspect.

Sure, but that is why I say that you shall be patient and careful. Let anything came higher than you while something under you, and you are most likely dead. Flying Spit XIV is a matter of patience as with all pure energy planes, while Tempest can be used in mixed role, and even after fight still have energy to dive its nose down, and accelerate out of fight.

Amendment to my post: The Tempest is no threat above 20k. It's the Ta152 and 109G10 you need to worry about.
