blue screen of death
« on: August 30, 2003, 08:28:32 PM »
Hi, I am not sure if anybody can help me because I am sure I am going to be to vague or something like that.

I was thinking of trying aces high online so I down loaded the game. After installing the game I tried to fly off line. after I click off-line I go to the hanger I think. here is were the problem occurs. after I click off-line and I go to what I think is the hanger, I get to see the hanger for a second after it loads and then I get the blue screen of death and I have to restart. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing, I even deleted everything and down loaded the game again, but the same results happend BSOD.

any ideas?

P-II 450 128 megs of ram Nvida 16mb vid card.

I downloaded the game a few years back and played it off line and it worked fine for me then on the very same computer.

well thanks, bolillo

well, with a p2 450 your frame rates will be very low and choppy. But your blue screens of death may be caused by directx --  make sure you have dx 8 loaded, if you have dx 7 the game won't run. Of course there are many other possibilities, but dx and out of date video drivers are possible culprits.

make sure your  video driver is up to date -- what card? pci slot, integrated, or agp?

If its early Nvidia graphics card use no later Nvidia drivers than 30. 82   Re-install DirectX 8.1 or 9 after changing drivers.
