Testflight of one of the new super large aircraft carrying over 1000 passengers. Wake turbulence doesn't allow them to use normal airports, so they are designed as float planes. The concept of commercial float planes dates back to the early times of cross-atlatic flying, when aircraft had to be refuel on their way.

Captain: "Give me 5 degree down bubble on the bow planes, make turns for 10 knots, make your course 188!"

Crew: "I think he's trying to cover his bellybutton for missing the runway..."

HK's old airport, Kai Tak

Other side is a big pool and the other is a big mountain.
You don't want to overrun your landing to the other direction, theres densely buildings in between the mountains.

I think this is the boeing which overran it's landing in poor visibility and ended up floating.

Lots of 747's at Kai Tak had their outboard engines changed due to striking the runway on landing :D

Kai Tak had one of the most dangerous approaches, but surprisingly no bad accidents happened during the years of its usage.
