Yahoo Chess!

How many of you enjoy Yahoo Games,  more specific,  Yahoo Chess?  I love it.  So far I am 15-3-1 (wins/losses/draws).  My dad taught me to play at a very young age and I have played avidly since.  I am just coming off a 8 year hiatus and very rusty,  but having fun:)

Yahoo chess..Where everyone uses the same lossing moves they think will win in 10 moves! I don't see how a 1 minute game of chess attracts so many, but they seem to enjoy it... I was 20-0-0
but what does that mean, I beat 20 8 year olds at 5 minute games of chess?!
When you get tired of playing with the 8 year olds check out http://www.uschess.org/ and you will find some links to better players online and getting rated with the USCF and or Internationally rated...

Actually,  there arent many minors playing in Yahoo chess.  Yahooligans, yes.  But to create an account in yahoo games, you must be either 18 years of age, or provide your parents consent with credit card info just for verification.

I have played three types.  Those that are mediocre at best (I am in that group) and those that are really good.  And the others that are middle of the road.  I try to play those that have a high rank for the challenge.

Not the same as playing other people I know but I downloaded GNUChess from http://www.tim-mann.org/xboard.html a couple of months ago and started playing again for the first time in years. It's got some cool features, except I cant find a difficulty level setting and it kicks my arse each and every time ;)

Yahoo is ok for the quick game, I shouldn't be so hard on them...
The type of play it promotes is not good for tournament players to learn anything from, you will learn bad habits, but who cares about bad habits if you are having fun right!!
I never needed a credit card to play or sign on to yahoo....
you click a button that promises that your above the age of 18,
 then your in....
Enjoy!!
