Hnmmmmm........

Just in the last few days I've been gettin alot of lost UDP switching to TCP and an occasional disco, and just 10 minutes ago lost UDP then connect?!?!?!

Granted this is probably a heavy net use weekend but hmmmm....

get pingplotter before you accuse HTC of failing you and posting such an angry thread. Ok so its annoying and yes you do pay money to play but the net is a fickle beast and often you are sent through at least 10 different router servers to get to HTC's server.
If you run pingplotter(free) you can see which of the servers or 'hops' are ruining your connection.
you 'KNOW its not your ISP'? have you tested that then?

If it turns out to be HTC at fault why not send skuzzy an email and tell him exactly whats happening with a description of your system and all its driver numbers etc (the more info the better).
He Im sure will do his best to help you as he has for many of us in the past. One thing HTC is good with is connection problems. They try hard to help out individual's problems too which many other companies dont, they(EA and others) just point you to crap FAQ's!.On AH I once had about 3 months of problems(yes i too got annoyed like you I can assure you! and i get why you got angry) I got a lot of help from skuzzy(AH net admin and alround escaped lunatic ;) hehe just joshing skuz ;)).It turned out it was due to MY ISP changing an 'exchange' for ADSL to a bigger capacity and not HTC servers at all. I found this out ONLY after i used skuzzys suggestions to test the line. The ISP denied there was a problem until i damn well proved it to them!! Then suddenly 'oh yes sir, this is maintinance and not classed as a error, its essential updating for customers benefit'. Really io thought? and thats why you halve my connections speeds but continue to charge me the same extortionate rates? Hmmm how typical for a phone company!.Dont trust ISP's is my lesson or any router SP.

Also this is supposed to be in the connections section of the BB not in the 'gameplay/feedback' section.

Calm down a sec, count to ten then write your problem down in an email or thread in connection section, you will get help pretty quick, much faster than some company like EA would honestly.

I usually only get booted a few times a month. Since new server 16x. I did have a pingplot and skuzzy said its my ISP although I never had the problem the 10 months prior. What do I know so I have to believe skuzmiester is correct.

Hmmmm...

Well ran pingplotter and low and behold...

Had 3 hops that were addin as much as 1050 ms every now and then.  Also was gettin as much as 50% packet loss with up to 4 different hops.  The connect was basicly just trashed!

This from a connect that seemed golden just 3 or 4 days ago.  Contacted ISP and got another connect.

Checked with pingplotter and wow what a difference!!!!

Weird thing though.  the first connect/hop goes dead right after hook up and I get 100% packet loss there but no time in the MS?!?!?  It's like the connect to the 1st hop isn't even there?!?!?!?!

My new connect is way better then my old one!!!  Even with the dead?!?! 1st hop.  And my ping time is much lower!!!!!

WTG Hazed Thx for suggestion.

I was kinda of the opinion that the labor day weekend web traffic might have just been very high.  But seems the servers in the route that are managed by a certain company (all 3 of them) are in a state of distress for some reason?!?!

Sorry guys I just got so mad yesterday I had to quit flying (or trying to fly I should say).I did run ping plotter, and didn't see anything over 250. most of the time it was well under 200. Guess I ll just give skuzzy a call and see what he can do for me.

would this have anything to do with loosing the vox all the time ? Last night it seems I was relogging after every couple of sorties. I know alot of people having the same problem. Does anyone know the cure or is this something we just have to deal with.  Now, on another note last night it seemed as I got booted but when I tried to come back in it wouldn't let me after about 5 or 10 minutes I got lucky enough to get in. Any ideas?

I think the AH server may have gone down for a bit last night????

Several people posted elsewhere re something of that nature.

Perhaps it wasn't too much of a problem, seems the server came back up shortly there after.

Don't know all the particulars on this so don't quote me LOL

VOX out about every sortie :-(
« Reply #9 on: September 02, 2003, 05:21:38 PM »
Can no longer even complete one sortie without loosing VOX

52nd KIWI squad nights are a bust when we are loosing VOX before we get to target. Prior to server change I could fly all evening and never loose VOX!

VOX issues need to be fixed, this has been too long, too many having the same problem also!

Hope fpr a fix soon,

Pbear

Noticed vox not always workin thing prior to getting new connect from ISP.  Now vox seems ok.  Perhaps running pingplotter for awhile and seeing what shows up could help out with the intermittent vox problem?

Have to confess I don't use vox allot and I could be way off base here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
