-1k plane type and distance...displayed by the icon getting bigger the closer you get...

Icon can't really change size...

Too much going on if the enemy plane is within 1k of you there's really no point to the icon doing anything.... maybe even lose the icon altogether(under 1k)....    range is pretty easily determined under 1k at least roughly.

Plane type should perhaps be abit further than 2k as well, thats about 1 1/4 miles...  make it 3 or 4k for an id

I always liked the fade idea.........

at 500 its full colour at 5k its almost transparant.

I'd rather have the other planes fly straight and smoother when I am within 1k of them.

they keep moving around and turning... makes it hard to shoot them.

I would also like to hear some kind of voice warning (like a sexy woman's voice... "pull up pull up pull up") when my plane is in an attitude which may cause a collision with the earth.

How about an Arrow supperimposed over the enemy aircraft with its direction of travel... and add next to that alt and airspeed!

And may be make the screen flash when it's a good time to shoot and score a hit.. that way I don't waste bullets!

Yeah... just like an F-16 HUD
