I'm leaving for a 4 day camp trip in about 5 hours.  Post your favorite campsite and/or camp  trip you've taken. :)

Lake Baikal, Baikal ridge, 1993. Ukrainian Carpathians, 1989. Southern Urals, 1987.

All were 4 weeks, up to 300km in the mountains.

I miss mountain hiking. Last time I went to the mountains was 5 years ago :(

I've camped throughout much of South America.  That was quite the experience.

I'd have to say my favorite camping trips are my annual ones with college buddies.  Every summber we go for 4 nights.

Rip...Does spending the night in the Bomb Shelter count?
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Just went a couple of weeks ago to Lake Timpanogas in the Willamette National Forest.  When they say heavy mosquitos, they actually mean INFESTED WITH MOSQUITOS.  It was a really beautiful spot, but the mosquitos were out in full force and they weren't taking any prisoners.  Probably better after the first snowfall, but also more trecherous to get to.

Anything that doesn't include any of the following is okay by me:

Cabins
RV's
Toilets
Faucets
Beer
Canned foods of any kind
Propane

In other words... it must be a minimum of 10 miles walk and you must carry everything you need on your back. Fishing is preferable but not necessarily a requirement.

I agree, excepted for the beer part.  To me, a beer is best far from civilization, cooled in a stream, and consumed with friends over a campfire while frying fresh brook trout.  I always lug 2 or 3 in.  You really can't take much more unless it's just an overnight trip, because of the weight.

I also bought an aluminum case for my fly rod, and put a grip boot on the bottom.  It makes an excellent walking stick.

Actually my favorite was a 4 day hike that included attaining the 9 highest peaks in Southern California. Before you laugh Oh geographically wanting ones... these peaks ranged from 11,500ft to 10,700ft.
