This franchise blending kinda pisses me off. Too much like "Dracula meets the Wolfman." which makes it harder to suspend disbelief (at least with the game series), especially since I'm a huge fan of the Alien series and a lukewarm fan of the Predator series. I imagine the movie will be the same.

Well, I don't know about the movie, nor do I ultimately care at this point.

I will say that the first Aliens vs. Predator game (and the second, though not as much) was the first game to literally make me jump out of my chair and cuss out loud at the screen.  What did this?  Simple, the facehugger.  whoopee those little ****ers are scary.

Also, the atmosphere when playing as the marine is very similar to the feel in the movie Aliens.  Pretty creepy, even more so with that damn motion tracker going off all the time.

and no, I don't think that b/c a game/comic/tv show is good means that a movie is going to be good, just letting you know that the game was more than just quake with aliens and predators.

Preds won in the comic. Hopefully they'll stick fairly close to that story line. If they do, it should be a decent story. If they "Hollywoodify" it like so many other movies lately *cough Daredevil cough* then it'll just suck as usual.

There are too many inconsistancies in the movie.  One in particular:

Costner meets up with the kids who, by taking him as an example, become postal carriers and leads them in their duties.  They all take off for their pickup/dropoff points and costner's character rides by a house, where a kid of about 10 or so comes out to give his letter, and passes halfway, turns, looks undecidedly, undecidely some more, takes a step, looks undecidedly again, then rides back to grab the letter to the cheering of the orchastra(it had to have been the orchastra cheering cause it wasn't me).  Personally I thought the point of his decision to do a full duty was decided when he took on the postal kids.

Movies generally don't present degrees of acceptance of duty/loss because it's difficult to portray, as we can see in The Postman.  It's either a go or a no go.

You’re right, but it still didn’t stop me from liking it.  I have a rather large ability to engage in the “willful suspension of disbelief” if I like what I’m reading/watching.  Let me put it this way – I watch, and enjoy, Dr. Who.

Obviously, I don’t nitpick.  If someone turned "The Fountainhead" or "Atlas Shrugged" into a movie, I would be a lot more demanding I suppose.

The Postman was a “feel good” movie and I left the theatre feeling good.  Sometimes that's all I want from my six bucks.
