« on: September 03, 2003, 09:27:49 PM »
ok gentlemen,

I'm looking for somebody who really knows their stuff about net
gaming and how different computer systems can play different
games. Can my system break into the new aces high2 tour
of duty and play with reasonable quality.Give it to me straight
I can take it,how much longer do I have to live in the virtual
world of aces high:)

My operating system

1.intel celeron 500 mhz processor with 128 mb of sdram added.
2.direct x 9
3.64 mb sdram shared memory architecture with up to 11mb
   allocated to video memory.
4.integrated intel direct agp graphics

note-very good game play performance on present game of
aces.

wes34th quote of the day"so what you are telling me is that you
don't know how to fix that and plus you don't care?"

Well Wes....start saving some cash because it appears you are going to need an upgrade in the near future. In all the information I have heard they are recommending a minimum of at least 900MHz to be able to play AH2. Also is that a grand total of 64MB of memory you are playing on? If so my friend I might be able to get you the hook up on....nahh its not worth it since the memory costs nearly what the computer is worth in total dollars now.

For less than $600 dollars I bought new motherboard, CPU, RAM and modem.

Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro
AMD 2600+ 333bus
512MB PC2700 (2x256MB sticks)
Intel 56k modem

I then bought another Chieftec ATX tower case for $130 total with 330W power supply and spent another $80 on a 40GB Maxtor ATA-133 hard drive.

Grand Total spent was just under $800 and its a kick tail setup that was bought on short notice.

I'll assume you're just looking to play AH2, and not much of a heavy gamer.  If that's the case, then you might want to check out Dell's website.  They've got reasonably cheap yet powerful machines and it's probably not worth the hassle for you to learn to piece together your own rig, nor would it be worth it for you to buy the baddest thing in existance, either.

 Gf 2 mx 400 64mg card ... 39.00   framerates 60-80 avg
 or
GF 4 mx 400/440 128 card 49.00   frame rates  75-100 even 110

for alittle more you could toss a 2.0 duron or athlon cpu in it
 (the 1.3 ghz durons are $40 , the 2.0's are $80ish )
they all work with that board ... along with either DDR ram or SDram ...  the better the ram the faster it runs ...

better then  abit boards as far as im concerned.

250.00 and youve got a nice gammer ... not a monster but a nice smooth machine. i havent seen a game yet it wont play  with a 1 ghz cpu ...   FA3 , IL2, FB, Generals,AA,BF1942,  just to name a few.
