Kill Stealling
« on: September 05, 2003, 10:22:08 PM »

I've had it with this poor excuse for skill.

If you see a enemy going down with both engines dead and the tail missing YOU DON'T FREAKING NEED TO PUT ALL YOUR AMMO INTO HIM. He's dead. He's going down. Is your freaking score THAT important to you that you need to steal other people's kills?

I'm mad because I can understand it in the middle of a furball. But when there are only two of you attacking a target and the target has been dispatched, it is VERY disappointing to see the guy that just watched you nail the con FOLLOWING THE wreckage down and filling it with enough holes to steal the kill.

Please insert your witty, you must be a score potato too, response here:___________

right, just enough ammo to make the remaining fuselage components explode is about all it takes.

This one is from tonight.  It's not bad, but not great.

This one is great.

Ooooo... and this one is where I dupe a squadie into getting a perk plane to "help" me protect the HQ... and steal the kill from him after he successfully de-wings the B-17.  You think getting credit for that kill was easy?

If you see someone trying to steal your kill and he does it repeatidly, do what I do and give him a warning followed by 10-20 check 6 calls if he continues chasing burning wrecks

And that will get you banned nilsen.

Palef you do have a point.  I do not like when an enemy plane is wingless, tailess, or on fire and someone dives down to spray into an already dead target.  I dont get so upset about it as you seem to be, but I will say i dont like it.

The thing that bothers me about "kill stealing" in the above mentioned examples is that the enemy plane is no longer a threat, cannot effectively shoot at anyone, and sure as heck isnt going to rtb or even ditch.

However, If a plane is smoking or leaking fluid, missing control surfaces, is dead-stick, or even missing a wingtip, I say he or she is fair game for anyone.  Just because you are saddled up on the enemy's 6 doesnt give you exclusive rights to the kill.

If you're not willing to finish the guy off, then don't start crying when someone else does.  It ain't dead until it explodes.

when gameplay gets so boring that you only see one red guy in your sights every hour or so... ya gotta expect this kinda behavior.

Palef - I've done it occasionally. The dots/icons are hard for longsighted(farsighted) people to deal with, and only when getting to 300 yards do I notice that the guy I was firing at from 400 had only one wing. Last time, an LA7 had been popping a friendly buff, dlord. When I realised I'd stolen dlord's kill, I apologised - and dlord replied "np". But I try not to make a habit of it.
