Quote
Respect is not a civil right; it is an attitude of approval and admiration.

The rest of the quote goes, "No one can claim a "right" to the emotional or intellectual approval of anyone else. Indeed, to mandate such respect is to violate rights because human beings should be free to assess what is right or wrong, admirable or detestable for themselves. And, then, peacefully live according to their assessments."  The ideology that respect is somehow a civil right is at the core of the political correctness crusade; it is an attempt to rob us of our true right to decide for ourselves what we think.
Sabre
"The urge to save humanity almost always masks a desire to rule it."

You earn respect...it is not granted in any way shape or form.

The sad thing is that this simple basic intuitive fact has to even be mentioned, and by that it is inferred that this is not the normal case.
