A friend of mine who has flown about every warbird around told me once that the F7F was about his favorite.  He ranks it up with the F6F as a great flyer.

Tigercat...hmmmm.....Naaaaa, The Hornet ;)
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Tigercat is my favourite Yank warbird - always love to see it fly at Duxford.

The Hornet is something special too - would like to have seen one fly.

hmm... maybe...

or the 480 mph+  top speed (fastest twin ever built apparently) outclimb a Spit 14 and 4 hispano's might have something to do with it also.
