Tough Airport Security? I don't think so...
« on: September 09, 2003, 09:24:39 PM »
(DESOTO,TX September 9) -- Over two days, Charles McKinley traveled from New York City to his parents' home in Desoto. First, he boarded a passenger plane at JFK Airport and flew to Kentucky, where he had a friend box him up in a crate and ship him to DFW Airport.

He was in the crate eight hours, before being delivered to Desoto. According to police, Charles had four weeks of vacation and decided to visit his parents the cheapest way possible.

The crate arrived Saturday morning at his parents' home, much to the surprise of the delivery man who saw a pair of eyes staring at him, between slats of the crate. The delivery man contacted Desoto investigators.

Mckinley's mother could not believe her eyes when her five foot eight, 170-pound son emerged from the wooden crate. The crate he was in was marked special delivery. For now, Charles McKinley is behind bars at the Lew Sterett Justice Center on unrelated charges.

(NOTE: The guy was arrested on a bad check warrant after Police arrived)

He said on TV that it did get VERY cold. I saw a report on Air Cargo security a few weeks ago and how it was just waiting for terrorists to exploit the lack of security. Guess this proves the point.

He labled the shipment as pc parts and monitors. I might be wrong but I think monitors have to travel pressurised.
