Halflife 2 Benchmarks...ATI looking good
« on: September 10, 2003, 11:47:58 PM »
Looks like NVidia has a lot of work to do. Radeon 9800 2x faster than 5900 Ultra. Also Radeon 9600 looks solid. Glad I grabbed a 9500 Pro a few months back and not an NVidia card. :)

Same here Markov. And you can do a firmware flash when you need to and almost turn it into a 9700.

Ick..  GF4 TI42 is getting to sound like slow... XP1600+ too.
Do I need to *again* upgrade the computer

Think I'll go with the 19" monitor next time instead of hardware... :>

The benchmark looks somewhat out of the scale ATI vs. Nvidia, hard to believe...  but we'll see when more people gets to use the same benchmark.
Then it'll be the "shock and awe" for me, when it's proven for good.

You can't do it with a 9500pro, but you could do it with some of the 9500 cards.

Here Oct. - at your own risk :) According to this the 9500 pro can be unlocked.

I haven't done it yet myself. I'll wait until I need to, or get bored.  Also, the 9500 pro still kicks bellybutton on the 9600 pro, so double bonus!

Well that is crappy news for 9700pro users.

9800 and 9600 have pixelshader 2.0 , 9700 has 1.0

Thats why you dont seee 9700pro listed...

Its a software issue not a hardware thingie so why dont they just updgrade us in driver ?

very cheap.
