We may never know why...we may never understand the reasons. We may feel anger towards those who did this...we may feel anguish for those killed. We may feel lots of things...all fo which relating to this day three years ago.
September 11th is a day that we as a nation have and will come together as one people...to remember those that perised that day and to mourn the loss of many fellow Americans. We may not have known the people who were killed, the people who worked in the Trade Center or the Pentegon, or who were aboard the four flights that disappeared off radar that early morning, but we mourn them. We cry for them. We pray for them.
There is nothing else we can do but remember...to show the people who were killed at we will never forget them...to show the firefighters and policemen who were killed that day trying to save lives...to everyone in New York City and Washington...that we have not forgotten. I read reports and watch videos on 9/11 and some of them make me weep. It's hard to admit that a college student cries anymore. But I do...as I'm sure many of you do as well.
Regardless on your political stance or your stance on the war, I am calling upon every member of this board, should you be so willing, to take a moment tomorrow morning to remember those people four years ago. A moment of silence is in order. It is a day to put off political flaming and mud-slinging to stand beside one another and tell the world "We are Americans...and we are still here."
We have not backed down and we never will. We will never forget September 11th...never. It is a time to remember and think back...and pray for those who died that day and who are overseas now.
My generation doesn't understand. I do...and I will pray. Tomorrow morning...we all should pray. It's all we can do for them.
