I just thought I'd start a thread on this topic.

Since we have night now, it would be cool if we could loose the icons at sun down.

PS: PLEASE don't turn this into an icon discussion thread.

I'd like to see what everybody thinks they'd like to see in the way of night fighters and implementation of them.

Personally, my list is: P-61B, F4U-2, Bf-110(forget the versions), Mosquito nightfighter. I really don't know anything about Japanese, Italien, and Russian night fighters.

I think it would be most cool, if in the planes that had radar operators, you could switch to that seat, or have your gunner be able to switch to that seat, then see a radar display.

Now, I am NOT saying HT will ever implement night fighters, even make nights long enough to need 'em, I haven't heard anything on the subject. I just would like to see what everybody would like to see for night fighting

C-ya guys! (on my six probably)

Although, I have seen footage of British AI radar scopes. I remember thinking, how the hell do you get anything from that? It looks like an oscelloscope!

You can use the .time command to set the time.

Set it for midnight or something and you will see it.

Online nights are very short.

ha haa ha. With the current Arcade radar system, what use would the night fighter radar be? We already have bars and dots for all sectors to guide u to enemy........

<S> Quite welcome Volkrt.

Air intercept radar would be quite different. You could see vertical attitude relative to your aircraft. That is something the map-dar doesn't give you.

If you are far from a friendly field, or your radar has been knocked out, then still more use for AI radar.

Plus, like I said, it would be more necessary if icons went off at night. But I don't think we need to talk about that.

Most of the radar used by night fighters was pretty much like we have now. Aquiring a plane is just like in the daytime...by sight. Same with gunnery.
