My New European Terrain
« on: August 12, 2000, 05:59:00 PM »
This terrain is historical, but I am organizing the fields for playability.  For some reason, they don't show on the clipboard, but there are about 25 of them, including AF, VF, HQ, and Cities.  The terrain is on a 2:1 scale, 512x512 miles.  There reamins a LOT of work to be done.

Look, Toad, Hangtime!

That little peninsula in the northern part of the European mainland; guess what country it is?

To make things *really* easy for you, I've marked the spot where I live. It's the little cross there.

Now COME GET SOME, allied opportunists!

And yer better bring yer nukes, you pantsies.

It looks very nice, and it will be a first time I can visit my home town in a WWII flight sim  , but actually i believe a more "southy" map would be better?

Historically there wasn't much action in the air over Denmark and Norway, and Sweden was neutral.
Some bombers based in up there tried to bomb Britain at times, and then there is the attempted attacks on the Tirpitz battleship (sistership to Bismarck) + plus a few low level raids by mosquitoes on Aarhus and Copenhagen set to destroy Gestapo HQ's and german friendly industry.
The night activity was somewhat bigger I think, with both supply drops to the resistance and also sometimes Mossies going to or from Sweden with personel.

Hahaaa!!  Finally a map with FINLAND on it!  Well, atleast a few islands.    That little island cluster in the upper right corner and the little strip of land above it, to be exact.

Please put a field there?

Looking great!

As I said, this isn't made for scenarios, but for gameplay, so I can put stuff wherever.  I also had naval combat in mind when I made this.  Think of the fun you'll have racing PT Boats full speed through the canals and rivers!

UPDATE:  All of my work has been lost for some reason.  Now I'll have to put all of the stuff back in again.

Oh My! I never even considerd being able to "Pilot" patrol boats.... Drool that would Rock...... But, dunno how much work HTC would be able to put into something like that, methinks it would be at least a year or so down the road, almost definately after the planeset was filled out some..

Were supposed to get naval units in 1.05, which will hopefully be here this year.
