DiabloTX, it's not the Iowa's beam that makes her look fat, it's her stern. She's big-assed (or maby just big-boned? ;))

Now THAT's a big butt!

Bismarck's butt is a bit more graceful don't you think?

Btw. how goes the ashtray project?

but all reports say that the IOWA class bbs were probably the best balanced design, and better sea boats.

Yeah, I agree that the Bismarck's fantail is a bit more lithe but that in turn, to me anyway, makes her look fatter around midships.  I have to say though that the Bismarck's did look all business compared to, say, the "what the hell were they thinking" Rodney's.  The Hood is still the most beautiful capital ship ever made IMHO.

Oh the ashtray thingie, ummmm....damn....thought you had forgotten about that....:D

{EDIT} If the Iowa's have a big bellybutton GS, I guess that explains why I like em so...remind me of J. Lo's rear.

They were.  In fact the fire control system on the Iowa's made thier 16" guns the equal to the Yamato's 18".  In fact, some sources report they were the best large calibre gun ever put to sea.

Thanks to WldThing, finally figured out how to post a pic, so here is the Wisconsin with her gorgeous bow at Norfolk:

Cool pic.  The amount of boot topping is astounding when she is fully off-loaded.

What's also cool is you can say, "Wow, I see a little bit of the Kentucky in the Wisconsin!" from that view.

Father-in-law turned down the idea...said it wasn't worth his time to help people kill themselves and then proceeded to finish off a double meat, double cheese cheese burger with large fries.
