Limit switching to a team that would unbalance the MA.

The limiting percentage (i.e. how great the disparity would have to be before limits kicked in) could be adjusted up or down.

Solve the unbalanced issue and most would accept it easily imo.

Unbalance is not created by 1 country having bigger numbers but mostly by two countries (usually including the one with bigger numbers) attacking the 3rd country.

I agree with ccvi.

The only way we're gonna get total balance in the MA, is when some 'system' takes control over people and forcibly distributes them over a given front - sort of like military personnel being ordered and stationed... so people don't just get to choose whatever place they want to fly.

I don't think that's too bad, but I have a strong feeling other people are not going to like that.

'Two teams ganging on the other' is a seperate issue (and result)of the problem of grossly uneven teams.

Virage...

Then squadmembers run the risk of getting split up etc.

Not a good solution at all imo.

this would only restrict the migration to the biggest team.  I'm not sure how this would split up a squad.

remember the limits don't have to kick in until it one team greatly outnumbers the lowest team.

There is a percentage of players that jump on the bandwagon and create an unfair MA.  This would curtail those players from piling on only during the times when the MA is unbalanced.

Double-teaming exists even with perfectly balanced teams.

The effect of number imbalance is negligible to that one.

Virage..if I understand correctly...

If you log on to MA and one side is unbalanced you should be "routed" to the side with fewest players?

If this is what you mean then it would split up squads.

Or are you just talking about brand new players that log on for the first time?

Or do you mean that folks will not be allowed to move to the larger side if they are on the small side?

My apologises.  I re-read my post and understand the confusion.

My idea is in regards to selecting a new country in the Map Room only.  No forcing players to move.  I would like to limit those players who want to change teams from picking a team that already has a large advantage in players.

I say we abolish the team counter... so no one knows how many are any side and balance the team by adding AI drones.

The next step is to balance the skill level of the players, by handicapping players and giving bonuses to those that are very good.

For example, if statistically a player has higher hit percentage, then their bullets are reduced in the amount of damage they do, and vise a versa..

This way everything is nice and even... it's balanced.

Perhaps an example is a better illustration of this idea:

NOOB is a first time player - never played AH before, doesn't know a rudder from a propellar. Least of all, what a merge is.

NOOB is flying along trying to figure out what all the pretty dials are for.

AH SUPREME ACE HOLE sees NOOB's plan flying along and manuevers into position for an attack, he easily wins the merge, and lines up for the kill shot.

NOOB has no idea he's being attacked, has no idea what SA is, has no idea what's outside of his cockpit, nor that he's just lost the merge and is about to be shot down in flames.

SUPREME ACE HOLE squeezes the trigger and plasters NOOB for a good 5 seconds. Yet, nothing falls off.

SUPREME ACE HOLES spits invectives to network lag, mean while maneuvers in to 50 yards, for a point blank kill cannons blazing.

NOOB notices a rattling sound, and proceeds to fly around in circles trying to locate its source.

SUPREME ACE HOLE follows NOOB getting ever more frustrated with the blanks.

Mean while CHERRY PICKER SOB from a third world country flying in his ME262 at 25k, looks down and notices the intense dogfight below on the deck, he rolls over, dives down, waxes ACE HOLE and NOOB in one pass. CHERRY PICKER isn't as good a flyer (he doesn't even know what a merge is). He's not even very good shot so his bullets actually do some damage.

So, there everything is balanced. Everyone flies around and has a good time, everyone is equally handicapped by their skill or lack of skill so NO ONE HAS AN ADVANGE - After all that wouldn't be fair.

Nilsen10,
Not totaly sure what you mean but, i am frustrated by this whole its unfair thing. I do agree w/ the new player entrance to lesser count countries although, mabey they should just rotate new guys 1st to knight, next to bish, next to rook and so on..

:)
