ladies and gentlemen,

Please think about the following idea and if you like it please
e-mail aces with your comments.Let's make aces high
available to a wider audience.Let's keep the old aces and simply
add tour of duty.In addition, there could be a second aces
for all the high tech gamers out there with the latest pentium
2000 computers:p So, what do ya think gang?

I think Skuzzy would love the idea of keeping an additional set of servers running.

Hey Furious:)

I know it's more work. But, other companies do the same exact
thing. For example, directv has movies for high definition tv
customers and movies for regular tv's.I know Hi Tech's staff is
small and I know they must be facing a daunting task with this
new programming. However, I do think it's worth considering
as far as customer service to their client base. You already know
that Hi Tech will think about it or already has privately.Hi Tech
creations is extremely customer service oriented and will do what
it takes to provide the best in customer service.I hope you will
seriously consider the idea.I think this move needs the support
of the High Tech community.

Woul'nt is cost a fortune to keep a second set of servers up and running?

I think your asking HTC to double their overhead for this aspect of the business.

I don't know how many games remain that have such meager requirments as AH currently does, but if your just meeting the minimums, it may be time for an upgrade anyway.

Swing over to Dell. You can get a niec rig for $40.00 a month.

Not only double the cost of overhead ($$$), but add to it the keeping/maintaining two versions of code. That is a programmer's nightmare.

Time marches on, games move forward and become more complex.  Being a gamer means you are obliged to keep your system more up to date than your average business app user needs to.  Just like if you race cars, you need better equipment than Joe commuter. :)

The Plane of the Ecliptic is the flat plane on which all the planets in the solar system orbit the sun.

You would be surprised just how little a server costs. The bigger cost is usually bandwidth. But I really don't think AH uses all that much bandwidth considering what it's doing.
