stick set up ???

I cant get my stick set up correctly ...
having problems dealing with the dampers and deadpan. And I really dont understand the graph on how it will help me .  thx  sprint <MOL>

After calibrating your JS, move your controls to see how they react on the graph.  It should be a smooth increase and decrease.  The graph checks for spiking (Massive movement with little JS deflection and joystick jitters).  My JS will spike at the extreme limits of the up and down movement (pitch), so it doesn't effect me much (or so I think).  

There maybe more to the graph but that is how I use it.

I calibrate my JS everytime I log on.

Sprint set it up just like you do in Warbirds.

The only real addition is the graph which checks for a spiking problem.

Sliders control sensitivity

Deadband control the "deadspace" (ie if you get a constant slight left turn [or any direction for that matter], move the roll deadband up till it stops)

Dampner controls how fast the control surface moves from center to the position the joystick indicates. Its used primarily to remove the dreaded nose bounce (but can work in any control axis).

I use a MS Precision Pro (USB)
I've found the easiest way to use deadbands and the damper to be thus.

Deadbands.
I Use the deadbands to eliminate stick wobble, (the little bit of slack in my stick from worn springs). I move the settings until I see no response on the graphing function in response to just "wobbling" my stick.
 
Damper.
I use this to set a "delay" response in very small stick movement right at the start of any axis movement. This seems to have helped my "gun/nose bounce" a fair bit. Though I also have found that "Nose Bounce" varies wildly from plane to plane.

As to the sliders themselves, I still have no idea how to figure them out. But I'm working on it. (trial and error)  sigh, I've do know that smoothness of travel/response is imperative, with no "jump" in response to stick travel.
