Help me name an old movie.
« on: September 19, 2003, 10:46:42 PM »
Ok I saw it late one night years ago. I am going to say late 50s early 60s.

I thought it was a Tony Curtis movie, with George C Scott, but it may have been others since I can not find it in either’s filmographies.

It started with these two pilots flying F-86s sabers in Korea, and the followed the two of them for the rest of their Careers, I think a love triangle may have been involved and the main char was not as successful as his buddy.

Anyone have a clue?

Sounds like the Korean War film, The Hunters. At least I think that was the title. I know the word hunter was in it. It had Mitchum as the lead "old hand" fighter pilot and a very young side kick that like to talk like he was stuck in a early beatnik moder. "Daddyo" I can't think of the younger guys name but he is a rather busy guy in several movies / films.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Possibly "The Bridges at Toko-Ri" with William Holden and Grace Kelly?

Pretty sure it wasn't that one as William Holden dies during the war which is the end of the movie, IIRC.

Speaking of old films...

TCM had a movie on yesterday that was pretty great. The cockpit views reminded me of flightsims, and there was ALOT of great wwii plane footage. I was wondering what it was till I went to the living room and hit info on the remote there.

Battle of Britain.

I thought the same thing. BoB had some great, possibly best ever filmed, aerial footage, but I was left to guess what was going on when they spoke German and Polish. I'd like to know what the heck they were saying, especially the Poles.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Well, you have to admit, dying falls under the category of "not as successful".

;)
