i have said it befor and will say it again we used those ww1 medium arms until .....

well we are still usin um every dang day somwhere sombody uses a 50cal to reach out and touch someon else in a way only it can.

small med cartrige technology was perfected in the 19th century and there is such a thing of most effective size/velocity bullet for a job.

we have faught and died on half of the beaches and mountains of this world we did it with the same machine gun from the day they were available until today...

if there were better we would copy it (m60 a copy of a beter german gun) but in the case of the 50cal Mr Browning was a genious of the proportions of gerard (inventer oo the m1 rifle) these wepons on paper are nothing special but like the ak47 of the russians it is perfect for many jobs and works when the more "MODERN" wepons are craped out.

generaly superior my big hairy texas butt....

please release AH beta soon all tempers running high hehehehe.....

_towd_, you may have some good points, but the tone I got from that was rather 'superior'.  There are many good rounds / weapons systems out there.  There were during WWII... and there are now.  Just 'cause it's from the good 'ole USA doesn't automatically mean it's the best... heck, when I was gettin out of the USMC, I remember they were bringing in another Belgian MG to test.  The SAW (while my personal opinion differs GREATLY) is used quite effectively by the Army and the Corps.

I'm happy to see that the VVS guys are going to get their a/c (wel, hopefully!) finally.  Put 'em in their "correct" rides and then we'll find out if they're good a/c or not.
