Congrats on new card, im thinking about that card myself. When you get it installed pls tell me what fps you get at your res setting. Also list the rest of your components that you test it with.

Nilsen, I'll chime in here and say that I just got a new system put together with an ATI Radeon 9500 Pro and I'm getting 60-80 fps at 1600x1200 res.  Very nice.  Just gives you something to compare against.

System specs just for good measure:
ASUS A7N8X Deluxe motherboard
Athalon 2600+ processor
512 MB Crucial RAM (2x256)
120 GB hard drive with 8 Mb cache
Radeon 9500 Pro
just using the onboard sound of the mb, and it sounds great
WinXP Pro

Thx mjolnir:)

Im gonna run my ati9600pro on at 1280x1024 cause thats the default on my LCD. Guess my FPS will be very ok at that res.

I too would like to know how it works.

I bought a FDX8500 LE Radeon 64MB last year and it has been superb (faster than the 9000 or 9200 with a couple of less DX9 hardware stuff which has been rarely used).
Its lasted way longer than my usual Graphics card lifespan of 6 to 8 months.
Im now looking to buy a card that superceeds it significantly for around £150 to £200 and ive noticed the 9600 is below this price and apparently a very fast card. Id consider it if it makes a big enough leap in speed.

I have a AOpen AK77-8XN(software bios with many overclocking features) mobo with 512mb of 400hz PC2700 RAM, a 40 Gig ATA 133 7200rpm Harddrive connected to a Athlon 2.2Gig CPU running at 400 FSB and sounblaster Live! soundcard and a TFT sony monitor.

my fps in AH range from around 35 to 59 (limited by TFT 60hz refresh) with 2X Anti-aliasing on (and  2X smoothvision anisotropic filtering??or something :)).

if i can max out my computer at 60 FPS without it ever dropping that would rock :) maybe the 9600 128MB could do this for me?.

Im not sure if i should get the 9600pro now or wait until someone has tested it with AH2 on a comp with similar specs as mine.... Hopefully we wont have to wait alot before someone can do that test ;)

When was AH2 due out again HT?:D

Ok, first tests are done.

It is hard to say how new card has improved AH FPS. With old card fps was 30-70. With new card it stays 60fps. Thats because I have sony 18" TFT installed at the moment...

But, I have to do some more tests with it.

3Dmark 2001 SE test was interesting. With old card my best result was 6609 points and with new card result was 9240. Default settings.

Picture quality is a little better now, both 2d and 3d.

I got a Radeon 9000 64MB DDR yesterday.

Hope it will be enough for AH2.

AVRO1.. Your chip is more or less what mipoikel traded up from. If the rest of your puter is ok then you should have no problem getting good pfs on AH.
AH2 is another matter tho, don't think anyone really knows that yet, so you just have to wait and see . Hope it will work for you, but it MAY be abit slow if you want to use high res settings.

I have put together an

2500 barton xp
asus a7v8x-x
ati 9500 pro
1024 ddr 333 memory
win xp pro.

getting a stable 75 fps on all maps, funny thing is though, with same rez in win 98 i was getting just over 100.

seems to me, xp somehow limits it t 75 max, cause it stays there constantly
