what is the age you have to be? i need a job to get a new video card for my computer. i saw 1 for $80 on circuit.com that i wouls like also 1 for $60.

what am i suposed to do? mown my neighbours lawn which will never happen cause the guys are out every saturday at 10 am mowning their lawn. i cant do much. plus not to mention i dont make much for my lawn only $5 every 2 weeks

Just FYI. In my experience the age you must have to avoid child labor laws is 16 for most typical youngster jobs. That doesn't preclude you from doing other less "formal" jobs to earn money. If lawns are out then think of other things. I used to wash cars, water yards, cut lawns, prune trees and other chores to earn a few bucks. Try looking at those areas and be creative. Maybe someone would pay you to start picking up their yard and pet waste. Heck I have even seen a comercial operation for that purpose locally.

Look around for jobs no one likes to do and offer to do them for a reasonable amount of money.

Surely somebody in your general area needs yard work done.  Anything basic and manual labor like you should be able to get some quick bucks doing it.

Illegals are working most of the jobs that kids used to do.  Around here it seems like everybody's got a day laborer doing something at their house.  It's hard to compete with somebody who's willing to bust his bellybutton all day to feed his family.

clean out your garage.
walk your dogs.
pay me to do the work you cant get your kid to do

put up lots of sign, when work is offered make sure your on time, clean, polite, listen and do a better job than they expect.  after a few week when they start telling their friends you'll have as much work as you want.

I'd much rather pay a hard-working, clean cut neighborhood kid to mow my lawn than an illegal alien.  Mowing lawns got me started in the work world, and I'd want to give some other kid the same opportunity that I had.  Paying a child is making an investment in your community and in that young adult.  

Try playing off that.  Be sociable, pleasant.  If people like you, they'll hire you over someone who just shows up, does the job, and sticks his hand out.

I had a job when I was 15 at a gas station after school. When I turned 16 and bought my dad's truck I was given more hours on the weekend. That was in the 70's, not sure how the law reads now.

The Shell station was at the corner of Hwy 70 and Hwy 20 in Marysville. Thought I would throw that in because my current location is dixieland.

I wasn't working to buy vid cards back then, I needed a new set of Jetsen Revenger tires and chrome wheels for my ride. A couple pair of Vanns shoes and new Dogtown Wes Hampton signature series board followed shortly after.

I was never late and always busy, worked well then as it does now.

sounds like you have a pair so here is foolproof way to turn balls into cash. go knock on doors and ask for lawn work ( dressed conservativly) understand a 90% failier rate is wild sucess and your on your way.

B17 - a new vid card for $60 or $80?  You sure it will work for AH?

A lot of people are going to be upgrading their specs for AH2, so my guess is that there could be a lot of used but good though not bang up to date gear coming available. If I lived near you I would give you my old one when I upgrade.

How about it, guys? All you guys buying those $400 CPU and $300 vid cards (XP3200 & ATi 9800 Pro) - what are you doing with your old ones? Help B17 if you can.

yard care has been mentioned, but how about planting flowers, shrubs or trees.

I used to detail cars for my neighbors.
