The best thing to do is.. when they ask for mr/ms.... say.. "just a moment" and just set the phone down... hang up latter or when you here the operator saying "if you would like to make a call..."

whichever is more convienient for you.

They can't bother anyone else if they are tied up with you...if enough people did it I would get less calls.

When they ask if they may speak to "Mr. or Mrs. Nelson", I hand the phone to my 4 year old. He loves to talk,...kinda hard to understand but he's getting better. Eventually the party at the other end hangs up.

I work part time for the USDA getting Agricultural Statistical Data from farmers.

I call a LOT of farmers ussually at night, often late as thats when they are home.

I always identify myself & who I'm calling for first. I always indentify him by both first & last name.

Anyone who does NOT do the same for me gets hung up on.

Most of em are easy to spot, they have a 3 second pause while it switch's over from the computer dialer to the phone.

If your on the ball you can hang up before they are every on the line.

Do not call list WILL be a reality before the years out. The public will demand it.
But I agree that it needs to be done right the first time.
