night and gamma settings ?
« Reply #30 on: September 26, 2003, 09:03:20 PM »
Night would be great if everyone experienced the same effects.  That is not the case, IMHO; the MA should remain in daytime.  Not even bother with the dawn to dusk.  The position of the sun is handy if your paying attention to it.  I like to try and position for it, but if it doesn't work out that won't stop me.

Night would be great with actual night fighters.  Night fighting in WW2 required some coordination with ground personel.  Later it also required a RADAR operator to work the gear.

If that could be simulated, and night would remain night as HTC intended, then night would be a most excellent time.

If we had honest answers to the question, "do you adjust gamma at night?", I suspect that 70-90% would be yes.  With the occasional, "what is gamma?".

So while night can happen, I treat gamma changes the same as HO's.  Everyone can do it, most are, why complain.

Hitech, give us Night Fighters with special equipment or leave
night for sleep to the pilots.

No fighters were flown in WW2 in complete darkness without
special gear. German fighters had a small fighter squad called
"Wilde Sau" who hunt down bombers without that gear, but
with enlighted targets from ground searchlights. To say is, that
this tactics have very little success.

Gamma correction setup is for cheater and so i agree with those,
who log till night because they see nothing.
