New MA map finished for next week
« on: September 26, 2003, 06:17:11 AM »
My Main Arena map is finished except for the last of the gv spawn points. all elevations, airfields Vbases carriers and everything else is complete.

I hope HTC can throw it into rotation so we can play on it till ah2 comes out for online use :)
Fester was my in game name until September 2013

GV spawn points is still a lot of work.

Look foward to seeing it in the MA.

Fester ...

Please tell me you cut down the size of the oceans so that the lame .... "Hide the CV' crap is not an issue on this map.

Can't wait to play it !!! Thanks for the effort. <>

One minor thing that sure is a heck of a lot of fun is GV slalom runs.  On Trinity, before it was changed there was this awesome GV spawn above one of the middle bases east of TT..   It was at 10k but the GV spawn was above..  the great thing was the run into the field.. My squad used to have m3 sled runs where you would leave it in neutral and race to get to the field.  If you did not back off you catch air at least twice and travel at ludicrous  speed while dodging trees.  We spent way to much time and even had events making that supply run..>

it does have gv downhill runs they are by the port facilities.
ports are setup so they can be easily recaptured with gv high speed runs so its difficult to capture enemy carriers without having captured territory deep within if the enemy has any sense whatsoever and recaptures the port immediately.

I'm sending in the RES file to dale in a day or two when its finished

his comments were that many bases were close together, I made sure most bases were an average of 20 miles apart but quite a few in the center are purposefully no closer than 13 miles apart.
however the majority of bases is spaced near the recomended 18 miles. the close bases are similar to the spacing on mindanao map (I used this map as a reference for furball distance setups)

and he also wondered how the 10k  A1 field in the center worked... it belongs to the southeast country (the one that usually gets ganged) so they are cursed or blessed with a 10k field to launch attacks from.

FESTER!!  Stick an AK in front of your name when ya send the map to HTC.  That way, it's even more likely that if it's a total peice of crap, it'll get right in there. :D
