Account locked after holiday.....
« on: September 27, 2003, 08:54:23 AM »
Imagine this, you spend almost 3 weeks without Aces high, come home from your holiday, to find out that your account has been totaly locked, simply because my old credit card had been stolen, so therefor canceld (just before i left).

I was expecting to be able to change my credit card once i got home from my holiday, but no.... Its not as simple as that, because i didnt give them the new card number before the 18th I quote:

Quote

09-16-2003    DECLINED 04 $ 14.95CP -14.95
09-18-2003    Account was locked -14.95

I lost my account... Its a bit hard to log in, to change credit card details when your 2500miles away from your home sitting on a greek Island, but hey never mind. Just got back today (09-27-2003)... So, how do i go about getting my account back, ive tried emailing Hitech (by replying to the nasty letter) but have yet to get a reply.

Need my fix of Aces :( :o

Best way is to ring them - it is weekend, but there could be somebody there; otherwise it will be Monday....  :(

Yes.... I'm in the UK too.  However, when I travelled to the US Con earlier this year, we found a number you can dial to get calls to the US for 2p a minute.  Dial 084444 621 621 then when prompted dial HTC's number.  Works great.  :D

i dont understand this system, it seems to lock/ban people out total, so even if they did want to come back, they cant... or will need to get a new name... why is this?

Overlag, it's unfortunate you were away when this happened and were unable to sort it out - I guess they have to draw the line somewhere.  However, if you ring HTC I am sure you will find them very helpful and they will probably reinstate your account while you are on the phone.

It's quite legitimate, apparently - we did research it thoroughly before using it.  ;)

It is HTC's policy to lock any accounts that return with a stolen/cancelled card code. That is done as a security precaution for both the cardholder as well as HiTech Creations. An e-mail was sent to you on September 16th notifying you of the decline.

We did receive your e-mail dated the 27th of September but as it was a weekend, we respond to all e-mails the next business day.

We apologize for any temporary inconvenience this may have caused you but we feel that our policy is the best way to deal with situations such as this. Until we hear from the account holder, the account will be inaccessible.

Please check for the response to your e-mail.

Regards,

Yankee
