While I was in San Francisco we set up our next meeting. It will be in KC in April. This should give you KC guys plenty of time to at least set up a good BBQ before the lynching.

;)

MT,

You lying, low-life, commie-pinko liberal, situational-ethecist and general bad guy...

I look forward to your visit!

How long you staying? How long do you want the BBQ crawl to be? Wanna go shoot guns and other evil conservative stuff? How much free time you got? What else you want to do?

Largest tourist attraction in Kansas right now is the big new Cabela's store.. great taxidermy. This stores "feature" is Mule deer. An impressive display in all their habitats.

See ya then!

Kaliforny Commie bastige.

Not sure yet, but if these things run true to form I should have at least one full day off, and most nights after 5:00. Usually a 4 day trip.

I would be more than happy to experience any reactionary, bible thumping, gun toting, narrow world view, cowboy acting, Clinton hating activity you all can think up. But I do want to see some airplanes... duh!

Looking forward to it.

one of the few things I really enjoyed about living in K.C. is the quality of beef you can get (west coast beef just doesn't compete).

the best steak I ever had was a resteraunt that was damn near next door to the stock yards (Golden Ox, I think but it's been over 10 years).

The Golden Ox still exists, it's still good. So's Hereford House and several others.

Airplanes? BT-13's and a PT-19 at the CAF Hangar.

One of the guys in the unit has an F4F recovered from Lake Michigan in his hagar in Lawrence ~ 30 miles away. Probably could set up a tour of that. He's got some neat stuff, Beech Staggerwing and  MiG now I hear.

Sounds like fun.

Curval,

I think I finally found you're smoker. Brinkmann improved their "El Cheapo".. now it's ~ $45-50 but they've done a lot of the modifications everyone was doing. Probably worth it.

Will send ya details when I get home.

That's cuz ya can't cut 'n paste in person, Rip.

Come to think of it, your virtual cut 'n paste jobs don't seem to have that effect either.

hehe

er... But it's no big deal. Most folks find that "rubbing off" on your guests is rude if not downright disgusting..
