Huffington Drops Out Sends CA Recall Into Turmoil
« on: October 01, 2003, 03:54:30 AM »
Holding a 2% voting block as of recent polls, independent candidate Arianna Huffington dropped out of the California recall race Tuesday, saying it was her best hope of preventing Arnold Schwarzenegger from becoming governor. "I'm pulling out and I'm going to concentrate all my time and energy in the next week working to defeat the recall because I realize that's the only way to defeat Arnold Schwarzenegger,"

Candidate Gary Coleman, bouyed by the prospect of gaining a theshold in the top 5 candidates, said he had no intention of dropping out. "If I can pick up half of Huffington's block, that'll mean six more votes for my vision."

Governer Davis's reply to this announcement was "Oh, great.  Now we have her on our side... that should really help."

She is like a character out of a bad sitcom.  California is truely more embarrassing than Florida now.

As opposed to the sitting Governor, who can't get away with anything, even telling the truth, Schwarzenegger gets away with everything, or more accurately, saying absolutely nothing. Maybe it's the accent. Asked to specify three state regulations he'd dump as governor, Arnold declined, admitting, "there's a lot to be learned. I'm hungry for information. I'm like a sponge."

Oh, terrific. Just what we need: Governor Sponge.
