DDR400 on a 333mhz FSB?
« on: October 03, 2003, 12:38:07 PM »
I've been trolling around the web for computer bits and pieces recently. One thing I'm slightly confused about: a couple of the Nforce2 motherboards specs appear to support DDR400 and a max FSB of 333mhz? I've even seen pre built sytems boasting Athlon 2800 and PC3200.

Is this something I'm not aware of, Can RAM be clocked higher than the FSB on certain boards?

As far as I know, the RAM on a board should run at or more than the BUS of the CPU so I would think yes it's possible.  What will usually happen is the RAM will be set at say 400mhz, but will only run at 333.

Hope that helps.
