A DVD set of the documentary has just been released.

"Considered the most influential documentary in television history, VICTORY AT SEA, in the words of Harper's Weekly, "created a new art form." The 26 half-hour episodes were culled from over 13,000 hours of footage shot by the U.S., British, German and Japanese navies during World War II."

I've seen it advertised in catalogues but didn't see any episodes (that I can remember).  Is it any good?

I grew up listening to the soundtrack... one of my dad's favorites.

Yes, a very good series... worth getting on DVD IMO.:)

I remember watching Victory at Sea every night on A&E when I was younger... back in the days before the History Channel.  Good stuff.  DVD set probably costs a bundle though.

US$42.53 at:

Might be cheaper somewhere else, but still doesn't seem all that expensive.
