The Spitfire I does not out perform the Spitfire Mk IX except in turning.  Everything else the Spitfire Mk IX out classes the Spitfire I.  If the Spitfire Mk IX pilot is both smart and good, he can maneuver in a fight that will cause the Spitfire I on his tail engine seize when the Spitfire I pilot tries to match his maneuver to stay on his tail.  Lucky for you that you ran into an average Spitfire pilot.

I agree with you Skull,

Early war planes are a lot of fun to fly.  If you can just give a late warbird pilot a good fight it feels like a success.  A few months ago I came to the realization that I really suck in AH.  So, I decided to fly a plane that matched my skillset.

Now, I still get owned every sortie, but, at least the other guy won't know if its because I am a terrible pilot or because he was fighting a P40.

spit 1 and hurri 1 are cool to fly but somewhat hard to get anything but assists unless you got a bit of time, otherwise someone will just jump in and steal your kill.

A good alternative is mighty the f4f or fm2, loads of twisty turny ability but with 50cals instead. :D

The Hurricane IIC fever will be gaining momentum.  It's already jumped significantly in usage over the last couple tours.  If there's alot of low slow planes in the area, it's perhaps the best set of wings in the MA to be fighting in.

with those 8 .303s you need to set covergence of the guns to the same angle then its just a matter of sattleing up on him.

sad part for these planes is you need to commit to one guy

Not really a way to do it except by individual aircraft... which makes 74 different charts.

You sure? You could have a list of all the planes with boxes by there names to the side of the window, check a box and the line for it displays?

You're just quibling over the interface.  The charts have to be created individually.  But it would end up looking more like this:

400 rounds? With a hit percentage of 2-3% that means you hit him with 12 bullets. Not surprising he flew away from that.
