Remember the 1960s Si-Fi show about the Thunderbirds?  Puppets who flew rescue vechiles to save people in water and in space?

Well they are making it into a movie, due out next year.  May be pretty cool!!  I guess Bill Paxton is starring in it.

:)
Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

The sound you just heard was Hollywood scraping the bottom of the Idea Barrel.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Can still watch it over here. They have a knack for passing pre 60's era programs... again, and again.

But but but........the only reason thunderbirds was so cool was cos you could see the wires and they moved like spastics and spoke with that odd bottom lip flapping thing they did.

How they gonna transfer the magic of all that to the big screen?

I wonder if they'll use the Pixar Entertainment trick of using computer animation ala "Toy Story" instead of marionettes with strings.

Best thing about "The Thunderbirds" was the toy vehicles I talked my parents into buying for me. :D

In "U-571" there's a scene where he's having a heart-to-heart with one of the other submariners (Mathew McConaghy's character I think).  Anyway, its supposed to be this real serious "war is heck" type speech, but the whole time I kept thinking of his ride in the 'vette with Arnold Schwarzenegger in "True Lies" when he's having a heart-to-heart with Arnold and that scene ends with a hilarious daydream by Arnold of knocking Bill's lights out.

I kept waiting for a punchline in "U-571" that never came.

I love all Gerry Anderson's marionette TV progs - Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Stingray, Joe 90 etc., and live action - UFO and Space 1999.

Captain Scarlet would be a cool film to make! :)

Yea Ive seen a few of those episodes....I think they also made those "Orbitz" commercials too (or someone made a knock off of them).

Some of those episodes..lol...nice to see someone giving the "sparkler" and black powder industry work!
