Planes for the Future?
« on: September 23, 1999, 03:16:00 PM »
Howdy-

This has no doubt been asked many times but I can't find a recent post on it....

So, any plans on having the uberbrits (Typhoon, Tempest, maybe Fury) in the game in the future?  I've been bugging Kesmai and IMOL for years to put these in AW and/or WB but to no avail    Also, any chance AH will have the N1K2?

Thanks.

please please the uberbrits!!!!

if the kruats and yanks get Ta 152s and Bearcats...its only fair the Limeys get the chance to dish out some Hate from these babys.

Tempest/Fury 430+ mph @ SEA level! could turn n roll too, BnZ and TnB all in one!!!..+ 4x improved HS 20mm almost twice rate of fire as early HS and higher velocity!

you thought Brit guns where deadly before?..they'll end up being tamed though

and yes the Tempest really saw action! since 1944, not like the other uberbirds continually asked for. sorry 1 or 2 Ta152s were thought to have seen action?

i'll prob fly the LW stuff anyway though..Brit stuff too easy

Bullethead my old friend !!

You disappeared from the squad, while I was on my Everquest sabatical and I lost your email, get ahold of me, my email is in my profile.

Early on this board, there was a discussion on planes and which Pyro would include. He said the first Japanese plane would be either a Ki-84 or the N1K2. You can better believe that I was lobbying for ole "Curious George"

Dunno about the actual numbers, but I read that the operational Ta152s were used to protect Me 262s during takeoff and landing. Curious employment, since they'd probably be engaging at 10,000 feet & under, although using them as CAP makes a certain amount of sense otherwise. I think I read it in the Rand McNally Atlas, don't know how reliable Enzo Angelucci's info is...

Sorry guys,

the Ta 152 has been introduced to service early 1945 with JG 301. One squad has been build flying the Ta 152-H0 and Ta 152-H1. The other groups continued flying the 190-D and 190-A.
First birds reached JG 301 in 1944 but due to the heavvy air campaign against the german industry it took until early 1945 to get the so called "Stabstaffel" equipped with it. (JG 301 / 302 "Wilde Sau" by Reschke)

If we will get this plane all allied types should watch 6, it definetely has been the best prop driven airplane ever built for military service.

Yeah...I'd like to see a B-29 with a nuclear payload...and missles..uh huh...lots of missles...

Maybe a couple of planes that never even made into production...yanno...uber ones that fly at 60k...weren't there also UFO sightings during the war...maybe you could model flying saucers...

and and and the ME-262 modeled correctly so you have about a 40% chance of the plane blowing up when you start her up...

sheesh...gimme an inferior plane so when I kill these clowns I can laugh whole heartidly knowing full well it was ACM and not the plane I was in...

Now, Ta 152 deserves to enter the sim, no matter of numbers produced. Why ? Just by being the beauty she is

As stated before, if the TA-152 is introduced, the the U.S. should get the B-29 with the Extremely Accurate and Effective Radar Guided Guns.

Heh.  We've got a fellow over in RB-land (vonTech) who flew those in WW2 -- yeah, probably the oldest simmer on the net.

They didn't let chutes go, either.

Ah, good, another fancier of Napier Sabre engines  .  Nothing like 24 cylinders arranged as an H with 2 cranks  .  One of the main reasons I bought EAW was to fly Typhoons and Tempests--too bad that game's AI and campaign structure totally suck  .  So, I still want these things in an online game.

Right, Tempests spent most of 1944 on V1 intercept duty, then did a lot of ground attack due to absence of German aerial targets by that point.  They did chase some jets down, though.

Typhoons, OTOH, so a LOT of action.  400 IAS in 1942 but compression problems from Hell, not to mention tails coming off, engines dying, etc.  But still a great plane when it was working.

Neither was particularly maneuverable, but they were fast, tough, and had big gunz.  What else do you need?

VERM!!!!  Well, as to that, one day while you were gone, Popeye announced w/out warning that he was quitting, busting up MOL, and take the name with him.  So the squad scattered.  MOL was the only reason I was in WB, so I went back to AW at that point  .

Yeah buddy!  Would be especially nice to have "Curious George" in AH because Kesmai has recently de-nutted it in AW  .

Reading in "Citizen Soldier" and BF-109 was strafing some G.I.s, they fed it a little .50Cal from the ground and smoked its engine.  The Pilot climed and bailed near the front.

It was around Christmas so the G.I.s were gonna let him walk away, but he produced his pistol and starting shooting at the troops as he sailed to the ground.

They said not enough of him hit the ground to be worth burying.

Nahh... you shouldn't have left so soon. MOL's are still in WB's. Pops decide to give up CO spot, but Dago is now CO, and we still one of the top fighter squads in the game(think we were 2nd or 3rd last tour).

Come back and fly with us if you want. If not, we plan to be here and in the "other new sim", so look for us.

Nice to hear from yah and stay in touch
