Heh. We've got a fellow over in RB-land (vonTech) who flew those in WW2 -- yeah, probably the oldest simmer on the net.

We got 2 guys on the Bigweek newsgroup that flew P-39s & P-47s :-P

Hiya BH
Good to see you in here
A couple months ago there was a post in here about a wish list of ac for the AH sim. Hehe, I was one of several who posted a wish for the Tempest as well as a few other late war types. If you haven't already done so, take a look at the proposed terrain shot over in the announcements section, very cool.

That's great, Flames, thanks for the info.  I'm pretty stoked we still have people like that going strong; no way to start to measure how much value their experiences have for the rest of us wannabes (oldest thing I've ever flown was a Herc).  One of my first trainers in RB-land (RAF Pappy) comes to us from a career flying F-86s over in Ko-re-a (dunno if he's interested in MiG Alley, tho.  It's like the Viper driver in a sister RB squad said about Falcon 4.0:  too much like work), and I'm lining up to sign onto the crew when the B-29 driver gets his hands on B-17II.  Stuff like that's beyond money.

How 'bout the P-47?

Gimmie the C, D, and the N if ya feel real nice
Seriously, I love that plane.
Think of it as a runaway truck at rush hour.

"You love a lot of things if you live around them, but there isn't any woman and there isn't any horse, nor any before nor any after, that is as lovely as a great airplane, and men who love them are faithful to them even though they leave them for others. Man has one virginity to lose in fighters, and if it is a lovely airplane he loses it to, there is where his heart will forever be."

Gimme a P47M if they really think about adding the Ta-152.
