When Pedro throws a ball that high and behind, it is intentional. He is one of the best control pitchers in the game.

He should have been ejected for that pitch, but what the umps missed was Pedro threatening Posada from the pitchers mound ... that definately was an ejectable offense.

Zimmers was probably so wound up over Pedro's pitch due to the fact that he has a steel plate in his head due to a bean-ball ... he almost died to that pitch.

Zimmers did take a left open hand swipe at Pedro and he did only react defensivly.

As far as the grounds-keeper ... He got what he deserved. He probably was running his mouth and should have know better.

Martinez - no contest. At least last night. He throw high and fast at the head of Garcia. Clemens fastball was high, and a HAIR inside. Manny is a moron, Zimmer is a moron.

Garcia is a moron, trying to make a big name for himself by acting all tough to Martinez. I'd much rather be hit by a pitch, take it in stride, and load the bases than act like a fool in retaliation. I also find in incredibly stupid how everyone hates Pedro for hitting 50 LESS batters than Clemens. Is it really a big deal, has anyone ever died from a pitch?

What i saw was Pedro DEFINATLEY threw at Garcia, i mean, how many Major League pitchers miss BEHIND THE BATTERS HEAD! Roger was not throwing at Ramirez. If you were watching closely, Posada asked for a splitter low and in, it just got away from Clemons and Ramirez overreacted.
The incident in the bullpen is a whole different story. I dont know what happened there but i did hear the announcers say that a Fenway Park employee (or former employee) was involved.

OK, first off, this is Apathy's baseball loving wife, he has no opinion, but I do.

The umpire gave both pitchers a warning, prior to the infamous 4th inning. When Pedro threw at Garcia's head, he should have been ejected from the game immediately. The fiasco that followed on and off for the rest of the game was a SYMPTOM of the bigger problem, that the umpires had lost control of the game and the respect of the players involved. I am an umpire, I have never given a warning and not followed through, it just isn't done.

Regarding the bullpen incident, the Yankee bullpen was out of line and should anticipate criminal charges. To be fair, why was the grounds grew employee in the Yankee pen, and cheering and jeering like he did? The Yankees are also due an apology from the Red Sox Organization, because behavior like that from an employee is not only inappropriate, it's unacceptable.

i'd like to know why the guy was in the pen as well, but cheering the sox after getting a big double play is hardly worth getting stomped on by a buncha guys who are all jacked.

garcia is a punk. whether or not martinez threw at his head, he spent the rest of the game trying to get even. jumping over the wall to get in the fight? cripes. In hockey, you jump over the boards onto the ice during a fight you're gone, whether you get into it or not. how about that 3rd man in?
