Perhaps instead of fixing the old maps, someone should step up and build another map with similar features of Fester's.

Someone who knows how far the fields should be...

Agreed Im thrilled that the fester map has gotten a positive response from most. I have to laugh at the armchair critics now though after I see how much latitude HTC give us (the players) in the way we design and make terrains. its almost like they dont comprehend that if they want a map exactly how they want it they have to build it because every 512 terrain built so far has been built by a player with the terrain editor.

I know they will never bother to actually use the terrain editor and build their own terrain but it is so much fun throwing the fact that they have the power to make the MA the way they want it in their face when they sweety about "direction" the MA is going haha.

Yeah. I've always found it funny that folks will invest hours in pissin' and moanin' here about maps...yet they refuse to put in any time trying to make their own map. It ain't rocket science (hell, I'm livin' proof of that :D). What you really need to do is beat some of these folks about the head and shoulders region with the editor (a CD copy, of course :)). Maybe you could motivate them to put their virtual money where there fingertips are :D.

I'm just hoping my map pisses beetle and bluemako off so bad that they get motivated to build their own map. only time will tell :D

hehe slapshot I think if they took the time to actually design somthign that woul offer a different strategy to arena design and gameply it would be much more beneficial to us all than the worthless and unfocussed whining that they have so much fun doing.

Fester proved it hands down move the bases closer better furballin and the BS fuel porkers can still have their fun.  Fix the other maps!!!!!  Make MA fun for everyone again.

Fuel porking is a good tactic,  as a matter of fact me and a couple squaddies took heavy 51's and porked a base that was launching multiple high number attacks against a pretty poor defended rook base.  I see nothing wrong with this..

Wild, what planes were they using to attack the base?

I'm wagering that it wasn't the early war stuff.

That's why close bases is great; you can still pork fuel and have some effect on base attacks.

Guys that fly the short range furball type planes can still get in a reasonable amount of fly/fight time nonetheless.

Close bases are win/win.

Well i believe the same planes you would usually see in the MA .. Mixed in with a couple early war planes..

The "some effect" on bases is pretty minimal with fuel porkage,  people could still fly the late war monsters but with just shorter distance of flight.  

Fuel porking for me that night was a strategy.. We kept rolling and rolling but would get pushed back more and more each flight,  so fuel shortage for the opposing team was the best solution.

Wild, fuel pork is a great tactic.  Thats why its BS, its too easy to do and has too much affect on the furballing.  In Festers map fuel pork is still a good tactic but it is less leathal and it does not totally end furballing bu tstill having an effect as a tactic.  It takes a more consorted effort and therfore one or two suicide dweebs can not spoil the fun.

I honestly have not seen an increase in early war plane usage when the FMA map was up.

Anyone notice a change?
