...then check out this video, published on the Conservative Party Conference website.

http://www.conservatives.com/conference/video/2003/ppbconf_broadband.wmv  (6.4MB .WMV file - there is a low resolution version on the site for those without broadband)

I'm pointing this out because you have in the past, along with Godzilla/NUKE, called upon me personally to 'splain away some problems that we have here. Well, this video says it all.

Gun crime doubled under the present Labour government, according to this video, which was used as a party political broadcast for the Conservatives.

Of course, if your real agenda is simply to troll, then do nothing. ;)

See you next Thursday!

Wow, nice to see that election commercials aren't any better your side of the pond than they are here. Lots of criticism but nothing to offer but that. It's easy to be critical but much harder to offer a solution I suppose.

Not having followed politics in your country I didn't realise that Blair was anything but a conservative. I suppose that conservative might have a different connotation there than here. Again a lack of experiance in your political system doesn't allow me much of a perspective.

What has the conservative party there offered as a solution to the problems listed in the film? Just curious, no dog in that fight.  ;)
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Basically improved public services whilst reducing the tax burden. The usual conservative ends-don't-meet policies. Although, their manifesto looks like it will at least challenge Blair and Labour this time around.

Oh, well we haven't heard from Ripsnort. Guess he WAS just trollling before then.

Dowding - the manifesto is for reduced taxation and improved public services. Labour promised improved public services and no increase in taxes. What it actually delivered was an increase in taxes (well 60 of them actually) and no improvement in public services. Not a single inch of new roads built in 2001 - despite swingeing increases in taxation on road fuel. Road development in 2001 was les than for any year since the invention of tarmacadam c1880! A health service so bad that people are being sent overseas for ops....

The problem facing Ian Duncan Smith now will be sleaze - what he paid his wife out of parliamentary funds etc. Too early for sleaze!

Mav - you're right - easier to criticise from the touchline. But the Tories (Conservatives) have an impressive track record of reducing taxes. Labour always puts taxes up.

All Labour governments are bad; some are worse than others.

Beetle, I can't play it from my work line due to security settings, I'll get to it soon as I logged off for the day.

However, just to be clear, your conservative party is like our liberal party, no?

So, by not commenting I'm trolling? Oh that makes perfect sense Beetle! :rofl
Edit: I just viewed it. Its a commercial for Gods sake! Show me a counter ad..then I'll comment.  I have no idea why crime is up in your country other than the fact that its easy for criminals to get weapons where honest, law-abiding citizens cannot. That makes no sense in a self-defense stance, especially those as business owners dealing with the public.

LOL, Beetles entire political opinion formed by a commercial. Thats a good one Beetle!

Gawd, you can't half be a dick when you want to be. My political opinion formed by one commercial? Lifelong Tory here, matey - c1970. Voted for 'em in 79, 83, 87, 92. Gave 'em 2 fingers in 97 after the ERM/Euro fiasco. Erm... that commercial is slightly more recent - :lol

By not commenting, you would have confirmed that your previous post was a troll.

And no, the Conservative Party is aligned with your GOP or Republican Party. Labour is for welfare bums. Can't you remember the warm embraces exchanged by M. Thatcher and R. Reagan? I bet Dowding can. :D John Major (PM Con 1992-1997) put his foot in it when he wished G Bush-1 every success in the 1992 presidential election, and Bush lost. Relations between Major and Clinton were somewhat cool as a result.

I will educate you further later this week - assuming your knowledge sponge is not already at capacity. ;)
