Now i feel guilty, MAG33 swapped to  Allies to even the numbers at frame start and we ended up getting 58% of the allies kills  :D

We plan on being back in the axis camp again next week so send orders as normal thx.

Of course we will consider swapping again if needed on the day.

Letting MAG33 switch was my second mistake, beside ordering the axis attack forces to RTB. I didn't expect the Tempests having that impact and used only 6 262s instead of the 11 skyman allowed me. Dang! Well, nobody wanted to fly them anyway. :D

I hope allies had fun after axis were RTB. ;)

Thanks to all those that rolled up.

It really didn't look like we would get a start as H-Hour came and we only had 11 Allied pilots.  Good convention had by all??  ;)

By delaying the start - the Allied squads managed to scrape enough together to send at least one strike, and by so doing, give the guys that had shown up something to do.  MAG33 coming over at the last minute made an event of it.

We took a fairly solid force northward - sweeping forward from the enemies expected target areas.  No contacts were made so we continued to the first of our own targets.  Several 262's dropped in and harried our groups.   The target was struck successfully and we returned to our own airspace to rearm and refuel.  Our spit14's found a group of Dora's and set-to with them.

The 262's really became a menace at this point.  Landed and landing aircraft became victims.  The CAP couldn't keep them out and rearming became a dicey task.    We lost valuable aircraft to fuel starvation and landing accidents and just a little vulching.

The 262's harried so much that it was impossible to send sufficient response to our fields that were being raided though we were close by.  Eventually the  262's retired (chased by tittibit all the way home I might add) and we tackled the 109's and 190's lingering in our airspace.  I saw lots of red chutes.  MAG33 were using their mounts superbly.

Rearming our remaining jabo's we set out after the retreating enemy and onward to our remaining target.  A quick check of the roster showed that we had closed the numbers gap considerably.  Arriving over the target field I checked the roster again and the enemy strength had evaporated.  We  completed the strike task and rtb'd.

The great thing about this week's event was the effort that the participants put into getting something worthwhile happening.  Without their imagination and the efforts and tolerance of the attendees the event would have been a complete dud for all.  Instead, there was action aplenty with most people meeting up with both superior and inferior machines.  (Heh, I deeply regret not being able to direct forces against the Ju88 and 110 crews - sorry guys your cover was too good to allow us to bring you fully into the game :)  )
I get really really tired of selective realism disguised as a desire to make bombers easier to kill.

Dantoo and allies.
to all axis forces who showed up.

I was glad to see, that we managed to get this event running and people had fun with numbers being out of anything playable at the scheduled time.

After I sent MAG33 to allieds, I lost 6 of my CAP force and I had to reassign my 262s. It t ook minutes to get people together and when skyman told me that allies had 11 Tempest and I would be allowed to take the same amount of 262s, life didn't get easier. Finally I got 6 into 262s and frame started. Funny, nobody wanted them

I've send one jabo group to attack V145 upping from A59. after they flattened it, they rearmed. In the meanwhile my Ju88 attacked A81 from NW which was deacked before by our covering 109s. Ju88 didn't left much of A81 and RTBed and then the Jabos did the rest. Without enemy contact, they hit what came in their way. Did the allies have any defense at all? :D

After the 190s of the CAP force was down, the southern 262s came to help the CAP and the 109 cover of bombers. Sounded like it was a tough fight and axis forces were vulching the rearming allies. Well, the attacking did their job great and killed both assigned targets, unluckily the CAP forces were outnumbered and got eliminated. No axis defenders left, the allies destroyed A55.

Yeah, it was a little bit boring, that no attack forces saw any enemy and sending MAG33 ripped a hole in my defense  ;)and turned out to be the biggest killers on allied side. :rofl

This was my first time being CiC and I enjoyed it. I'm proud, that the attack plan worked and the axis forces had some good fights. Next time I improve defending :)

Dislikes:

The allies leaving their targets without seeable defense and concentrating on attack only, was quite boring for half of my forces. Well, I sent in the bomber cover for fight, but the 110s and jabo 190s got into a strat blood rush in lack of enemies. :D

This 10k alt restriction, eventho the Ju88 weren't touched by it, is completly stupid idea. It castrates the 109s, who complained about it, and the Doras and 262s because you cut their energy fighting capabilities and force a shift to angle fight which favours the allies. Not to mention that it is historical a joke.
A limit of 30k, if it has to...25k, but anything else is .... !

I didn't like the basis on which I had to make the orders. I got no squad list, therefor no email contacts and no numbers. I had to search on this BB and in logs of last frame for getting the info on my own. And the map was all green, so I had only a guess where the front line is.
It meant a lot of more work for me. I hope next time the admin CM will find his time to get the stuff together.
I didn't want to whine about this on my first time being CiC, but I know from orders in the past, that such helpful things can be taken as granted.

p.s. The JBs said, that with alt restriction in next frame, they will not participate. Reading the 101 Sqd., I guess they won't be there too and I'm not sure about 308. ;)

The 10k restriction was not a picnic for us either....the only way to take on a Me262 is to get some alt on it, well, kinda hard to do in this setup.

At least the LW could force battle on any allied a/c they encountered, where with us, any 262 we came across were practically untouchable.

Btw, Im not disagreeing with your points, just saying how it looks from our end. My squad spent the last 2 frames dodging Me262s and not much else, just lucky I guess.

Will be there for frame 3, im going to add a coat of wax to the leading edges.

I agree squire, that's why I don't like the Me262 in events. It's not much fun hunting them and damn, you can't zooooooom with 10k alt restriction in the Me262!

You say 262 is fast.. well compare typhoon or tempest to 190F8..

We came as fast as it could go at 10k, and typhoons and tempests came HO, made 180 and gained at us instantly...

No way running or turning , our only hope could have been real HO´s ...

We felt the same against the Jets.  Tough coming in full boat at 10K and still being zoomed by 262's at 6 O'clock High
