Is HiTech Creations showing off Aces High at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) this year?

Just curious....

Negative.  Never say never but it's unlikely that we'll ever take AH to E3.

Otto, I'm sure the simple story is that HTC is a small company with an incredibly aggressive development schedule.  Even if they had the money to throw at going to E3, they sure as heck don't have the time!

Just remember, if they were to go off to E3, we might not see 1.07 for another month!  I'm glad they are not going to E3, as I'm addicted to their frequent updates. <G>

If they went to E3, they'd have to hire a dozen buxom 22 year old models wearing only thong bikinis and authentic WWII Bomber Jackets to hang around the booth, etc....

Costs too much for a small company like that :-)

I should amend that to say it's unlikely that we'll ever put up our own booth at E3.  There's no story, it's just doubtful that the benefit will ever outweigh the cost for us.

I think HTC thinks that actual product will speak for itself better than hype.

*In this case*, PYRO is a wise man I think.

8)

E3 is dead dead dead compared to what it used to be.

So is the CGDC.

Things like E3 and the CGDC are 'cool' for the first couple of years that the people organizing them really know what they are doing.

Then they become very cool, and get talked about alot.

Then, everyone who has no real place at these events but goes there, usually in attempt to generate some 'false validity' for themselves by hanging around 'the real deal'.

CGDC was initially created to help in the training of computer game developers. There was a time when it was fairly small and people actually went there to take classes on computer game development from the people who knew what they were talking about. But when word of it spread, it 'morphed' into what E3 was for computer games when it was 'okay' (as opposed to 'really cool', like it was in the beginning, or 'a joke', which is what it is now).

E3 was very cool from a professional standpoint for a couple of years. It has now developed into 'let's show a really pretty version of our product that probably won't ever operationally exist so we can con some clueless senior level exec into buying our game/engine/software/etc.' or 'let's show our screenshots with some 90% naked ladies who 90% of the E3 attenders won't have a hope in hell with but it will generate some publicity and we can write off the booze and the strippers because it's E3'.

There are exceptions of course. Old Oleg and Il-2 were pretty damn cool last year.

But I doubt that HTC would have much to gain at E3. Besides, the strippers are better in Texas - why come all the way to LA? 8)
