Very Sweet Sortie...

I just have to share this with people that appreciate it. I tried telling my wife, and she just looked at me funny.

Last night, D7Maw and Myself were patroling just south of an enemy base, about 6k up when we were jumped by 3 enemy planes.

In the greatest swirling dogfight I've ever known,  D7 in his F4U and me in my Ki-61 knocked down 2 Nikis and a Spit without a scratch!

The engagement convinced me of the value of wingman tactics, and will go down as one of my top 10 moments in this game to date!

The FurForce is strong in this one!
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Let me guess - you stayed high and fast?  The Ki-61 is one of the greatest under-used aircraft in the hangar.  Its only downside is that it takes so long to bring it to a fight.

I flew it like I would the F6F. I asked around and the guys told me it's almost the same airplane.

I entered the fight at about 7K and did everything I could to keep my E up.

Frankly, I got lucky. D7 did such a nice job dodging bullets with a niki AND a spit on his 6 at the same time, he gave me enough time to come around and get a firing solution.

WIth one blast of cannon, the spits wing came off and with the second blast, I poped the nickis aieleron forcing him to disengage.  I stayed on the Nick forcing him to auger and D7 killed the last bogie.

It was a fight I will most certainly remember.
