Skuzzy, i gotsa proooooooblem..
« on: October 15, 2003, 10:20:55 AM »
So i have this old SB Live! Value..
When i go into AH it seems like the 3d sound is jacked up.. For example, i go into AH and hope in a M8 and hop into the pintle gun..

I fire it clockwise 360*s, at me 2 o clock it will sound very muffled, at my 3 it will sound a bit better, and at my 4 it will be just as muffled, then gradually from my 5 all the way back to my 12 it will get clearer, but fluctuate in clearness while getting overall better..

When in tank town or at any time i'm trying to use sound to locate an enemy it will never be from the right direction, and the muffleness is still the exact same.. If i'm looking to my 12, and the sound is coming from my 3, it will be clear untill i look to my three, and it'll sound clear, but in a different direction.

This is really startin to frustrate me, and unfortunately i have no idea when it started..

Thanks.. :(

Rutilant, check the speaker setup you are using the "Sounds and Multimedia" ICON in the Control Panel.

Under "Sound Playback", press the "Advanced" button to see what the speaker configuration is.

Uhmm..bizarre.  What version of DX are you running and have you checked for updated SBLive software?

Sounds like another sound device is being loaded by DX, possibly, which would cause some rather strange results.

Possibly some helpful info, when i open the volume manager thing in thhe system bar and mess with the 'balance' when i move it to the right of center there's no change, but when i move it left of center it goes silent.
