Well said 2Late4u.  I agree wholeheartedly.  Maybe some of the other selfish ones would be a little more understanding if they had were suffering from an ocular handicap.
I regret doing business with TD Computer Systems.

I am the same as Tac. I can tell red and green apart, even the red and green used in AH. However, when looking on the map or chasing low bandits, the red seems to "fade away"

I apologize that we have not addressed this as of yet.  I know I've said this would be addressed a few times in the past.

One question for the color blind while we're on the subject- Is the problem only with the aircraft icons?  Is the radio text a problem as well and are there any other problem areas?

For me it is the icons and map dots and bars that are the problem.

Pyro,  the colors need to be user adjustable for HUE and brightness.  The WB brightness control was insufficient.

Thanks the info Pyro, I had too much wine last night and this topic is my only real 'Hot Button'.  I got a little carried away    Sorry Pyro and Lep.
I can only speak for myself, but yes it's generally a problem everywhere but worse when red/green are close together.
Most of us can't explain it because we've had it all our lives and we've got nothing to compare it too    We just hate to have those two colors used together.

Ok, thanks for the info.  You will be able to select the RGB values for both friendly and enemy colors(icons, sector bars, radar dots, field colors) in 1.07.  That will let you make it any color you want.

wicked pyro! Thanks!

To answer your Q: for me the radio is a-ok, since it has a black background, so the letters do stick out. plus it has the non-moving cockpit background on it too. If I place the text buffer on the top of the screen, I wont be able to read it if it doesnt have the blue sky in its background..the moment it goes below horizon it becomes unreadable. but heck, who puts the text buffer to block the view during a fight anyway?

Also, could the squad highlight color also have a RGB bar? that light orange is completely invisible when the squaddie is not flying straight and level.

Thanks Pyro!

added: Will the color of con dots be changeable as well? black dots on greenish background do "fade" a lot of times. you can be following a dot trying to get into range and it will just dissapear, then it will suddenly fade into view again and a sec later the icon comes up.

oh and what the guy below me said! <S>

Heh.  Now you guys see why I was trying to get y'all to give HTC the benefit of the doubt on this?

They are very busy folks with an incredibly short development cycle.  However, despite that, they tend to be very responsive to their customers.  THIS is why we need to give 'em the benefit of the doubt whenever possible.  They can't do everything at once, but they still churn out upgrades at an amazing rate.  <S>
