There are a few things I found -

Some tracers fired resemble white crosses, but the tracer smoke itself works great.

Ground hits record hit sprites and not puffs.

Internal cockpit views are coming up black.
External views are missing plane shapes.

Pilots head/body is restricting views to the rear of the AC.

Here's my DXDIAG info - I ran this at 1024x768 32 bit
and got 30-60 FPS depending on altitude
