That 32mb card is pushing it anyways - try installing DX9 and see if that will boost - also 128 mb RAM is low for just about anything these days :)

64mb DDR card 50-60$ US
512 DDR or SDram 50-60$ US :)

or

Gateway - new system $500 :)

If im not mistaken its abit better but im no expert on this matter. Ive just ordered the 9600XP for my system that im building but it costs more than the mx440 card. I would suggest that you wait a few weeks while HTC finishes AH2 and some more folks can give you some benchmark numbers before you buy anything. Gives you time to save up more money too.

Whats the specs on the rest of your system?

The MX440 will be alot better than the graphics you have now, but i would still wait for more performance numbers from the AH community after AH2 is officialy released before i run to the store. Is that a duron processor, celeron or p3?

Im starting to think that if you get a fast graphics card the rest of your system will not keep up and you wont benefit alot from it... durons and celerons at those speeds are not very fast.

From the looks of it, AH2 will require an entry-level displaycard to be playable.

With entry-level I mean Radeon9500 and up or Geforce4Ti and up. Other cards below that are more of a joke with current games. AH2 might run on them with reduced detail though. The looks of AH2 is so much the same to the original that it seems they only added some eye-candy to the old code. (not talking about flight physics now.)

Taking radeon7000 etc. to games today is equivalent of taking a 1965 model Formula1 to 2003 Gp and then wondering why it can't cut the mustard.

I would really think hard about updating your system with new mobo, cpu, ram and videocard. Should not be very expensive if you shop around. The rest of your system (harddrive, cd-rom etc.) is prolly fine and can be reused. If it works fine for AH1 then you have a few weeks or maybe more before you have to upgrade for AH2 anyway and that should give you some time to save money.

You may or may not have a system that can handle a good videocard upgrade but im not an expert on this so if you type in all of your system specs in detail then i will let Skuzzy handle this one from here :)
