Thanks for the input, MetaTron. I'll keep this in mind when
I decide what I'm going to do vis-a-vis AH II and new
video card and/or system.
I basically subscribe to the "if it ain't broke, don't screw with it"
school. Once I get a system stable and that meets my current
requirements, I stop chasing the "upgrade hoop".
I reached that point with AH and this current system a year
and a half or so ago. I think that's when I went through the
DX8.1b install/remove/continue to remove/purge registry
cycle to get back to 8.0 and a working TV tuner. Stopped
reading the ATI related newsgroups then as well
Lately I've been meandering the newsgroups and vendor
sites looking at ATI AIW Radeon boards. IF I decide to
upgrade I MAY go to a 9800 AIW Pro or possibly scale back
to a 9600 AIW Pro. I just shudder at the thought of going
through the uninstall/install/get BSOD/try it all again...and
again...and again cycle that seems to be the norm with
MS OS and ATI products...
Again, thanks for your input.
