Who has AH2 running on the Lowest Hardware platform?

Who has managed to get AH2 working with the lowest hardware platform and how?

I’m running it with a P3 over clocked at 825 m on an ASUS motherboard with a 32 meg Gforce2 vid card.

It’s flyable (but not really playable) with wildly varying frame rates from near 0 up to 50 fps but normally frame rates are ranging from 19 to 29 unless near high density graphics.

I managed this by adjusting the Video Setup both in the AH2 startup screen and in the game.  When the clipboard first comes up I Confirm 1024 x 768, 32-bit color, "Unlimited frame rates" and check the "Disable Palletized Textures" box.  Click OK to dismiss the dialog box.  As soon as you get to the tower, work your way to the Video Setup again and adjust the “Displayed Object Size” slider to “More performance” all the way to the right. Set the “More detail” slider just left of the center.  If you move it too far to the right all the cockpit instruments disappear.  Un-check all the check boxes except “Mip Mapping” and “Disable Palletized Textures.”

Anybody able to do better or get it running with less hardware?

P3 500, 224 megs SD ram, geforce FX.. i can get it started, FPS average around 5 without being zoomed in, 15 or so zoomed

p3-500MHz 256 ram an old ATI Rage 128, and of course i see only the tower, but i know yhat .....
i need to ugrade if i wanna fly in AH2 :p

I think your frame rate will increase substantially by switching to 16 bit color.  Mine did in AH.  I don't know what the effect will be in AH2.

466 Celeron with 384 MB Ram
64 MB Gforce2

Framerates from 5 - 20

ya got to remember that this is a beta!!! nothing is optimized yet!! It just enough code to run the basic functions so everyone can test it on a wide range of systems for CTD or and major graphic glitches.

When the cleaned up ver of AH2 comes out.... when ever.... Im sure some of you will see and increase in your FRs. This is not even close to a finished product yet!!

the intel intergraded graphics card on my moms new windows XP got it to work with average of 0 fps.

Hey MaddogJoe,

If we can get it to run on these "low powered" platforms then the guys with the 1.x P4s SHOULD be able to make it run.;)  That's why I posted how I was making it work.

Kind of hard to even look let alone do any "testing" if it won't run.  Or wouldn't you agree? :D  We all want to take a look and you won't find any whines from me about the beta on these boards.:p  I figure about 1/3 of the cycles are unproductive debugging code and data which will be removed before the final release.

P4-1.7, 256MB RAM, GeForce3 64MB

The CPU's OK but the RAM and vidcard are pretty pathetic these days.  Yet the game runs more or less OK.  Naturally, FPS at 1600x1200x32 with full details (which is what I use in AH1) totally blows, but I get about 30FPS at 1024x768x32 with full details.  I can live with that.

Well I gave it a shot on my old asus 486 oced with a 450 mhz cpu
1mb onboard vc with the old add on 2mb monster card and 128mb simm ram ..... Well .... it just didnt have enough umph... lol

then i moved up to the pent 2 500mhz celeron 810 intel onboard 32mb video 256 ram.... well it loaded but 0 frame rates...

Ive got a 950 tbird cpu with a gf2 32mb card i have to try next ...

when AH2 go gold and you are on a low end system you can still play WB 2..77

Im looking forward to AH2 and hope it meets my expectations, something AH1 did not,

i hope they (HTC) would release AH2 lite version (like they did with AH1 with less eyecandy graphics) so people with low end systems can still have little more breathing space.


my specs:

- Celeron 700
- 384 meg/ram PC-133
- ATi Radeon 7500 PCI

i get 4  fps/sec in tower at 1024x768 32 bit
