Good story.  I can't imagine having that guilt feeling for so many years.   to George, his 2 lost crew members and 58 missions in the air.

When I was 20, I was busy drinking myself silly, sleeping with anything that couldn't run faster than me, and trying to force myself to get my bellybutton out of bed to go to class in the morning.

Sometimes the only thing that got me up on a cold winter morning to go to a 6:30am class was the possibility of sitting next to the hot girls in the class and getting to know them a bit better. :aok

There's a book that was just recently released that dealt with the shoot-down and the fates of the 8 aircrew that were killed and the post-war reconciliation of the nations.  I skimmed it recently in a Barnes And Noble store.  Looked pretty interesting.  I can't remember the full title - "Flyboy" something or other.

Wasn't he the youngest pilot in the Navy at the time? Or was that a dead brain cell flashing in the back of my head?
